Quit feigning stupidity. You aren't and it doesn't become you.

I wasn't. It's serious. You've fundamentally acknowledged that you're asking a question that you won't believe the answer to if it were answered. Why would you insist on an answer that you won't believe? That makes no sense to me.

I think you miss what it was all about. The point of the McCarthy era was not about whether there were spies or not [unless you're one of those people that is shocked that the US in gathering intelligence on foreign missions at the UN....duh]. The point of the McCarthy era was the methods that McCarthy used. If you insist on providing some measure of how often McCarthy was right about individuals that he called into the hearing room, find out how many "convictions" he got.
