Dale-- I don't agree with that. Clearly there is a large faction of the Muslim world that is committed to the destruction of Israel, and clearly there is a large faction that is committed to the destruction of Christendom.
However, and this is Friedman's arguments, that the extremists must be marginalized. Given Iraq's record, Friedman claims that replacement of the Saddam regime with a successful government would give an example of the available alternatives to extremism.

Painting with too broad a brush amplifies already inflammatory situation.
