You've fundamentally acknowledged that you're asking a question that you won't believe the answer to if it were answered. Message 18691967 Try again. The point of the McCarthy era was not about whether there were spies or not It wasn't? This was a time when the USSR had "somehow" gotten the Bomb. The weapon the US had staked its and Europe's security on. To you it may have looked like "methods". To others it looked like espionage. find out how many "convictions" he got. Ah, but he did not have any way of getting that evidence in those KGB files. What, you think they were going to Fedex it to him? (And, yes, I know Fedex didn't exist then.) Had he had that evidence, the number would have been much better.
