Use Casino Verite'...it's the only computer program worth owning. Also, you should be able to count down a 52 card deck in less than 25 seconds (at the slowest) without errors to be ready for the casino. Take a deck, slide out 3 cards, then count 'em down by pulling off a card at a time. At the end of the deck, you should be able to have the count value of the 3 remaining cards on the nose. Keep practicing until you can do it in 25 seconds or better, with practice (and a single level count, like Hi-Lo or KO) you should be able to do it in about 20 seconds. For books, use either "Knock-Out Blackjack" by Vancura and Fuchs, or
"Professional Blackjack" by Stanford Wong...or else spend the hundred or so bucks for casino verite and use the Hi-Lo count there. The big problem now is that the Vegas games are steadily deteriorating, due to infection with continuous shufflers and especially with the horrible "SuperFun 21" single deck game, that only pays 6:5 on blackjack. The former is uncountable and the latter gives the house an enormous edge (in fact, NO ONE should play super fun 21...it's a rip off, you'd be better off sending yer dought to a broker picked randomly outta the phone book and let him "invest" for you....I hope I've made my point!<G/NG> The Indian casinos in AZ almost all use Continuous Shufflers, so they're out (I'm not sure about Tucson, but that's the case in Phoenix)
