The Shah has gotten a bad rap, both from the religious fanatics who took over the country and destroyed a lot of the Shah's reforms, and from our government, who didn't want President Carter to look too stupid, when he caused the overthrow of the Shah...

Congratulations for the most ignorant post of the day...that's no small feat. I can just as easily claim that Sadam was doing a fine job modernizing Iraq prior to the trade sanctions and he's succeeded in keeping those religious extremists and terrorists in check. It was one of the wealthiest nations in the region.

A lot of America's problems were caused by the mismanagement, naivety and religious dogma of Carter.

In your dreams.
