The Pakistanis abstention cannot be seen as acting unilaterally under any definition. I would point out that the French are threatening to Kill the resolution not the Pakistanis. This, in the face of the fact that as of this writing the majority of the council seems to be in favor of a the new resolution.

The French on the other hand have threatened to veto regardless of the majority opinion. When the US is seen as doing this, we draw much criticism. It is blatant hypocrisy.
