Marcos, I worked two years in Colombia developing the management and supervision of a $750 million dollar investment the company I worked for.

I recently made a comment about not being a consensus or collectivist society here. Now I see your response.
<<Because it spreads the responsibility for the consequences, that's why>> I take it you are a Latin American proposing this as a driving concern with the decision to liberate Iraq.

I found in the Colombian culture was exactly the same attitude about making decisions. Everyone was afraid to make a decision because if they did and it had negative consequences, the person suffered dearly. The result is that nothing got performed in a timely manner and/or the belated time consuming group decision was often not the best solution.

Once I instilled a culture that time was very important, that individuals should consult with others as required, but that individuals were expected to make decisions commensurate with their responsibilities and authority, the performance improved as this attitude permeated through out the staff.

Do you really think the UN group decision will be better than the decision of the present coalition of the willing? The USA will bear the vast majority of all of the various consequences.

The time for consensus building is over, we respectfully disagree, but we should resolve this alone if we have too.

Once Iraq is liberated their will be plenty willing to bear the consequences.
