Wow, Lizzie. I think that's the most pessimistic I've see you in a long while. Don't worry. Things look really bad now, but I think it's temporary. The market is sending a clear message to the U.S. gov't: either putt or get off the green wrt Iraq. Some guy emailing into CNN's crossfire said it best, though: "If Bush doesn't resolve the Iraq crisis soon, I'll drive a tank into Baghdad myself." I thought that was pretty funny in a dark humor sort of way.
