Hmm. I'm not sure I agree. The only reason why Huawei is competition right now is because they have been stealing Cisco's hardware and software IP. So that to me is not legitimate competition. In fact, they will only be able to compete successfully in China by stealing. In the rest of the world, they will get injunctions slapped on them, as they have in the U.S.

Althought, some posters here have said that Cisco's products are becoming commodities, I think Cisco is still a long way off from that on most of their products. Networking gear is a hell of a lot more complex than a simple PC. The software is a large component of a networking box's value. So I doubt you'll see commoditization in the short term, except at the low end. Cisco hasn't played much in the low end, so they aren't in as much danger as may seem at first glance.
