Let us go back only 61 years and stay in the USA to give you a better perspective on "treatment of Jews". The leadership of the American Jewish community knew what was happening in Europe. They knew that Germany was implementing the murder of all the Jews of Europe. After their attempts to gain help from the US government failed, they considered protests and civil disobedience to try to get support and help for European Jews. They concluded that there was little chance of getting help and a great chance that such actions would endanger the American Jewish community (you know, "mistreatment") so they did nothing but watch and count the dead

So they feared much worse than what is happening to Muslims now and they never considered flying planes into buildings to murder 3000 Americans.
