Sorry, still not acceptable. You should not go back more than 20 years, if that. To see this consider that even 30+ years ago, the blood of a black American soldier could not be used to save the life of a white soldier! This despite the fact that the doctor who discovered plasma is almost as good as red-blood for transfusion and lasts longer (i.e the father of modern blood transfusion). And how long ago was it that women did not have the right to vote? Not too from the time frame you are talking about. Our perspectives of what is acceptable social behavior changes in every generation. It is not right to compare what one generation considered acceptable with another. ST
