Investors may have lost confidence in equities, but evidently there is enough confidence even today to provide healthy valuations for most of the market. About the only subsector within a sector that I see that is undervalued are the E&P's. Most of the OS stocks are trading within reasonable valuations of future expected activity levels. Realizing there is allot of uncertainty that will be removed gradually as each week passes with $5+ NG and increasing RIG activity. An argument can be made for integrated oils being undervalued I suppose. But their petrochemical and refining side may just cause their present valuations, I dont know.

It is hard to say how all the factors impacting equity valuations will impact the markets in general and energy specifically. But I see it as the only game in town to earn a decent gain on my assets.

I believe we are on the cusp of a gradual perception shift by the US public towards energy. Realizing it is not something that just appears like the air we breath.

If people are willing to invest in homes to feel safe, how will they feel about investing in profitable companies that are easy to understand that provide energy?

Gas demand will have to go down, no doubt. How much NG can be found in the vast areas that are presently off limits to drilling?
