His anti-semitism imo is based on the parochial school education he got in the forties and fifties prior to the reform of the catholic church. Many catholic buddies tell me the story of what they were taught. All outgrew it, but not Pat.
Combine that with a deep resentment of Jewish intellectuals who stole the thunder of the right from him, along with his hatred of Bill Bennett, a catholic boy with similar origins who crossed over and you get this mish-mosh of anti-israel, anti-semetic, anti-intellectual garbage. Personally Pat is not an anti-semite generalist. He does have many jewish friends or at least he did. His anti semitism is directed at the Jewish Left which was strongly anti-reagan, the Jewish right which hijacked his cause, and israel in which he uses the old State Department arguments about american interests in the mideast. "IF only israel didnt exist" oil would be secure and the arabs would all be our friends. All this got tied together for Pat in his neo-isolationist stance beginning in the post-reagan Bush 41 world. And now its getting ugly again. Pat sees the US has a state where terror will happen again and again and where the american people will realize that it was the "jews" who got us there. Then he can ride in on his white horse and take back the conservative movement from the neocons by using anti semitism as a vehicle to become the first President from the isolationist party. Perhaps we will be lucky and pat will wind up in restraints in the isolationist wing of Bethesda Hospital. Mike
