Yes, and this is a very encouraging sign. If this war (and I don't mean just Iraq, but the whole global war) goes badly,
if it turns out we aren't welcomed everywhere as liberators,
if Nation-Building turns out to be as hard as Bush thought it was (pre- 9/11 Bush)
if the casualties turn out to be an order of magnitude or two larger than expected,
then we are going to see an amazingly abrupt about-face in policy. Much faster than happened in Vietnam. Mainly because so many current decision-makers experienced Vietnam, during their "formative years".
