After all, it's their lives, and their families you are impacting the most...
Are you wiling to be separated from your family to go to Kuwait and suffer with them??
I supported Desert Storm because the rest of the world supported it, and another country had actually been invaded.
It was?? Hmmm.. The French BARELY supported it.. signing on only at the last moment. In fact, France attempted to advance a peace "treaty" that would have permitted Iraq to keep Kuwait in exchange for promising not to invade Saudi Arabia. And most people will note that French participation in Desert Storm was nothing worth wasting ink in a history book about.
Also, the French also opposed UNMOVIC inspectors (since they wanted sanctions to be lifted altogether). They abstained from supporting UNSC resolution 1284, along with Russia and China...
Yet now they want to leave those inspectors in place for as long as necessary... all while US troops are forced to sit it out so these countries can preserve their economic ties to Saddam's government, and the oil he currently controls.
So the French, Russians, and Chinese didn't support Desert Storm, nor did they support the creation of UNMOVIC, but you expect them to join in a "consensus" for a resolution to invade Iraq and force Saddam to disarm??
