You're forgetting that it's only the leaders of UK, Italy and, yes, let's leave in Spain, that support this war. Virtually 85 percent of their constitutents are opposed. Those leaders who've you cited might not be around for too long. Overall, the European Union, once through its growing pains, will likely become a force of recognition.
If the Moselm world boycotts US products, what happens? We're already hearing that there's a new Moslem Cola to compete with Coke and Pepsi. If the world's hatred of America continues to grow, which it will under Bush, we're apt to see many other sideline repercussions, not the least of which is terrorist activity against American overseas corporations. Then what happens?
The world has called for stronger environmental laws that Bush opposes; the world has called for an international criminal court that Bush opposes; the world wants a fair and balanced United Nations and Bush sure does seem contemptuous about this. One of Bush's first act as president, just prior to 9/11, was to threaten to boycott the International Conference Against Racism. As it was, it insisted it would only participate under certain conditions.
