The SK has a excellent Army, trained to fight like ours. If the NK were fools enough to start a war after we hit their plants, they would be wiped out shortly. At enormous cost to the SKs, which is why we don't want to risk it.

LB,
Did you serve a tour in Korea?

I cannot think of a single reasonable scenario where a conventional ground war of any sort would be conducted in Korea. The terrain is wicked. The weather worse. NK forces have formidable sheer numbers.
I do know we have lots of old defense plans that call for reinforcing the peninsula. I believe, in the current world situation, they have likely been superseded.

An attack by NK would require a quick and enormous response to have any chance of saving SK. We do not have the capacity to execute that mission conventionally right now. I believe we have sent a "Nuke" message to NK by positioning B-52s and B-1s on Guam, a carrier nearby, and attack subs in the area.
