> Too bad the US had to undermine it by asking for immunity to its citizens and then when that was refused, pull out completely.
Oh well...you know, when you don't have the muscle to make me listen to the law, why should I submit to it in the first place? BTW, here is an interesting tid bit for you. After the revolution in Iran, Shah became a big liability for US. Iranians adamantly demanded his return so as to try him in court. US kicked Shah out but the issue never died. Whatever country he went to, Iran would not let go of pressing to try him. Shah had literally become a homeless refugee of the world. Eventually he said that he is willing to stand trial in an impartial international court. He added that if such an event takes place, every US president who served while he was in office will also end up facing the courts. Soon after he died under unusual circumstances. BBC strongly suggested that Shah had been drugged to death.
I suppose if I have seen the rise of fundamentalism, the defeat of a super power by a bunch of villagers, the fall of communism, the trial of Mao's widow, the creation of EU and other formerly considered impossible events, then it is also possible that I will live long enough to see creation of World Court and the rule of law.
here's hoping, Sun Tzu
Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if I had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say they for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
