Kip: Nice find...The American people were promised that we could overthrow Saddam and install a 'democratic regime' in Iraq that would quickly help spread democracy throughout the Middle Eastern region...This is what Richard Perle and many other prominent NeoCONservatives have been claiming for a long time...In fact, I heard him make that claim again last night on CNN...Yet, these folks rarely acknowledge the potential risks of invading Iraq WITHOUT strong backing from our allies and The United Nations...They also do not ever really discuss how expensive it may be to go into Iraq and very few folks really like to talk about the danger of invading and how it may unleash some significant unintended consequences that will be damaging to American interests for years to come.
