Ah, on the Pakistani air lift story, we don't know if it was a false story. No one has seriously denied it in print. The fact that the biggies didn't follow up doesn't mean anything.

Let's wait five years for the big books about Afghan to come out before we make these claims. Dana Priest has some low level stuff on this in her book but since it wasn't the focus, it's tangential. Jane Meyers also had some low level stuff about it in her New Yorker piece on John Walker Lindh. So it's still out there.

This is not the only example of Hersh's approaching senile dementia but the most recent and probably the most egregious. There are lots others, but I don't want to get started. He's not worth the effort.
