Jimmy will be, IMO, one of those Presidents like Truman, who gets re-habilitated long after leaving office. I know this is going to sound ludicrous, at the present NeoCon-infested moment, but "this too shall pass", and Jimmy will end up with a better reputation than Reagan.
Laugh away, but Unilateralism, Empire, Force, these lead to Dead Ends (again, I invoke the ghosts of Waterloo, Stalingrad, Dien Bien Phu......), and the leaders who championed those ideas will not be remembered kindly.
At some point, you will back up, re-examine your assumptions, and consider my Alternatives. Not yet, I know. |
