Short or avoid. My pick of CPC has been about halved since I mentioned it. And quickly too. They missed their last quarter. I have to assume if there's a reason other than the generally poor economy, the reason is structural: lousy management to an extent, plus an unworkable business model, according to Yahoo pundits. I just have trouble seeing how after many good years, now management is suddenly recognized as incompetent. (But it could be.) If it is the economy or if it is the business model (too much competition by local mom-and-pops, CPC having expenses of geographical diversification, etc.), then I don't see why IPK hasn't suffered the same fate (a p/e downgrade). It should. finance.yahoo.com Jmo, and obviously, I have been very wrong so far with my opinions and my dollars regarding these businesses. (I'm still holding my CPC shares.)
