AO MOSENERGO completes preparations to tackle spring floods The central anti-flood commission continues to monitor final preparations by AO MOSENERGO's divisions for possible spring floods. The commission headed by Igor Goryunov, chief engineer, was set up by AO MOSENERGO's management. Local anti-flood commissions have been set up at all Moscow's power stations and grid divisions. They have established contact with anti-flood commissions at local administrations, fire departments and divisions of the Ministry for Emergency Situations To ensure reliable operations in the period of spring floods, AO MOSENERGO prepared special transportation means, amphibious and pumping devices. The company created a stock of concrete blocks, pipes, gravel, sand and electric cable. AO MOSENERGO's branches have drafted monitoring time-tables for managers, specialists and emergency teams. In the period of spring floods AO MOSENERGO will monitor operations of coast pumping stations and technical water supply stations. The special attention will be paid to power facilities and cable lines which are located at possible flood zones. This will help to prevent damage to the electric equipment.
