That's quite a bit different than what Steven did. He personalized it, in the same way I just did in the previous example.

Thanks. Then I think the difference is that we read Steven's post, at least the intent of it, differently. I thought the fact he did not personalize it added to the grace of the comments.

And I agree with you that, in general, the suffering Iraqi argument is made as part of the general argument. But far from always. I'm not terribly bothered by it because we have all shown less gracious sides of our selves at times on the thread and consider (a) it's best to pass it by and (b) it's Ken's self assigned home work.

As for linking posts, there are tons but I don't think it advances anything to do so. I'm not complaining; just observing about the equities issues.

My complaining would be about posts like John Cavanaugh's in which he said he and others should not sink to their critics level, meaning other posters on the thread.
