Pezz, you must have a weird idea on what stealing is. When you kick the door in and help yourself, it's theft, even if you give the oil concessions to your buddies then buy it from them.

Since Saddam got it by force, it's just continued jungle rules to take if by force. If the USA wants to help themselves, that's the rule of the jungle. But the USA seems to not like living in jungle rules when Americans are on the receiving end. Therefore, it would be a good idea, since the USA has a major influence in the world, for the USA to establish international rules via a reconstituted UN so that Americans don't feel they are wearing a bullseye when they roam the world. The oil should be stolen from Saddam for the reconstituted UN and Iraq kicked upstairs for the New World Order to run as a democratic place.

Don't worry about $40 barrel oil - that's no big deal for the world's economy, though bad for heavy oil users [such as SUV drivers and airline shareholders]. It won't touch cyberspace, which uses no oil [near-zero oil anyway]. Cyberspace comes into it's own when the 3D world's oil lubrications gets costly.

Pezz, when there have been threats, the USA has not come to NZ's help. In fact, the USA has been very slow to join the fight for freedom over the past century. Do you happen to know when the USA finally got around to taking on Hitler's crowd? It was years after the early entrants got into the act against Hitler. My father left home in early 1940 to go to the middle east to defeat Hitler. When did the USA get involved?

When Argentina attacked Britain in the Falklands, can you say what help the USA gave to their Nato ally? It wasn't much. When NZ was attacked by France in a terrorist attack, what did the USA do? When Indonesia attacked East Timor, what did Kissinger say to Indonesia? You have believed the wrong propaganda. The USA doesn't see its role to act as the world's policeman. It sees its role as defending USA interests. Which is quite sensible in a dog eat dog world.

The USA has sought military help from NZ actually, rather than the reverse. You obviously misunderstand how the world works.

The USA would benefit from a robust New World Order based in a reconstituted United Nations. It's called civilization Pezz.
