"Trusting Saddam Hussein is not an option", he was using a very old propaganda technique.
I agree 100 % with that statement, and so did most of the Democrats, until it was time to start gearing up for a campaign run. Trusting Saddam is NOT an option. Go read about Saddam a little and ask yourself if he could EVER be trusted.
There are other alternatives, such as continuing inspections with greater specificity of deadlines, etc. We can always go to war later if it is absolutely necessary. It just isn't absolutely necessary now.
inspections according to 1441 were never meant to be a policy in "catch me if you can" inspections. Saddam was to declare all his weapons and the inspectors verify that and get rid of them....in no way has that happened, even according to that weinie Blix. As far as going to war later , I dealt with that in my prior post. We cannot leave those troops there for an indefinite term, everyone knows that, especially Saddam.
You know, only six months ago, the U.S. was enjoying an unprecedented level of support, from around the globe, for our fight against terrorism.
Personally, I do not care what Germany, France or China thinks. And as far as the "peace" movement, it is communist controled and led, so anything that comes from it is just trash IMO. They will find that out soon enough.
Don't you think that if our arguments for war were truly compelling that more people around the world would believe them?
No, I do not think that at all. I think most of it is just noise from people that are jealous of America, and will do anything to see us knocked down...ESPECIALLY France. If I was President, I would have already sent a bill to congress to appropriate the money to bring every WW coffin home from France. Every one. I would have pulled our troops off the DMZ in South Korea, and I would have started closing our bases in Germany. There are always other places to station troops. If the Germans do not want us to be there, I see no point in pouring money into their countries. Allies do not desert allies as Germany and France have done, IMO. |
