Saddam is not a threat
Saddam is not actually doing much right now
there is no point in taking out Saddam right now
and It is actually against American interests to pursue this action at this time

Neville Chamberlain would be proud of you.... We have "peace in our time, and all that 'rot, eh??"

You never responded as to whether this is how you advocate disciplining children... Just talk to them, right? Never spank them... Just give them "time out" and hollow threats of corporal punishment...

Is that how you treat your children X (assuming you have any)??

And while you're contemplating this, think about just what kind of threshold you have with regard to the use of force, both internationally and in your personal life... Just when would you resort to force in order to make someone comply with the law? When would you be willing to lift a finger to prevent an abusive father from beating his kids?

Because in the real world, there is no 911 to call.. No global police force telling you "we'll take care of the problem now, maam.. thank you for your call".. Only a group of neighbors, some of whom get along and some who do not.

And while you're contemplating when you'd be willing to use force, that somewhere in the world, there is someone like you, who would have the gall to claim you're over-reacting and have no right to use force under any circumstances. The French were like this in Desert Storm, even after Saddam invaded Kuwait. They fought tooth and nail to avoid war against Saddam, caving in only at the last moment when they didn't want to be ommitted and unable to have a voice later on.

IOW.. with 71% of Americans in favor of using force, you're just another lonely voice in the wilderness out of step with the mainstream. The minority who insists that the majority is screwed up in the head. The minority who clings to her elitist view of the world, while the rest of us are forced to deal with reality..
