First of all hundreds of thousands or millions doesn't imply at least in the area of 900,000.
Yes it does.......and had I said it, you would have pointed it out.
No it doesn't and no I wouldn't have. At most (if I was sure that it wasn't over a million which I am not) I would have said something like "it was in the lower end of that range".
Damn it, he said millions, not a million. You want to believe that Saddam has killed millions so you can feel more comfortable with the GOP spin on this war, then go for it but don't suck me into it.
Less than 500k
Your sure about that? Including all the indirect deaths, like the claimed massive amount of people dieing in Iraq now and ever since the sanctions started?
Yes. 500k is being generous. Saddam is so stupid he likes to brag and exaggerate his killings. The more dead, the bigger man, or so he thinks.
You tell that to Italy, Macedonia and Greece.
I doubt that they thought that Mislosevic presented a large threat to them. He couldn't even conquer Slovenia and Croatia.
If Canada erupted into civil war and the fighting got really deadly, what do you think our reaction would be?
If so, why did the European nations sanction NATO to address the problem over the objections of Russia?
For humanitarian reasons and to avoid having to take care of refugees.

"Without stability in its Southeastern part, there can be no peace in Europe as a whole. Stability, moreover, requires an an adequate level of economic propserity. Europe, many of its leaders have come to understand, cannot face the future with confidence so long as the Balkans are the black hole in the heart of the European continent. Nor can America be complacent about the stability of Europe, as two world wars have shown."
The double standard is that you criticized me for exaggerating because you don't agree with my argument but you ignored D. Ray's because you do agree with his statement.
I don't even think your statement was exaggeration, it was just outright false,
By your definition......please read above.
while the specific statement you claimed was an exaggeration by DRay, I said nothing about because I am not sure that it is an exaggeration, and if it is, it is not a wild one. In other cases in the past when I was sure DRay was saying something false or wildly exaggerate I did take him to task for it.
Right......I think maybe one time you contradicted something he said. You know there is no sense disputing this issue. Obviously, you agree with most of D.Ray's premises and few of mine. I have no problem with that but don't single me out for errors in posting if you're not going to point them out for everyone.
But even if I am not 100% even handed, so what.
You're right......like I said before, its your credibility in my eyes. If that's unimportant to you, then go for it.
And a double standard is when you don't apply the same parameters to two similar situations. By imposing a double standard then, your standards are not consistent.
