In my neighborhood we have a police force, and for a child that was terrorizing the neighborhood, I would call them, and have that child taken away.

Thank you... I shouldn't have say more, should I??

But those of you who need it spelled out.. The world is just like such a neighborhood, in which thugs, dealers, con artists, businesses, and residential buildings all co-located and trying to get along with one another...

But in this neighborhood, THERE ARE NO POLICE (Hello X?? Do you understand this?? NO POLICE to be found)..

So who the hell are you going to call??... No one... The only law that truly exists is that which you can enforce through mutual defense, and when that fails, unilateral and often pre-emptive action.

Saddam Hussein has committed armed burglary/robbery/murder/rape.. etc, and he was found guilty by the UNSC (with France and Russia dragging their feet all the way)..

He was tried, convicted, and sentence dealt out, and then a plea bargain was negotiated in order to give him a second chance to rehabilitate himself. He has reneged on that bargain, and broken the terms of his probation. The UNSC has clearly stated that in 1441, citing his being in material breach of that cease fire agreement.

So what we're discussing here X, is whether or not we should execute a warrant on a probation violator.. A murderous tyrant who has forced millions of Iraqis into exile, while killing hundreds of thousands of others...

So since there are no cops to call, the US is effectively carrying out its own law.. Just as France and Russia are following their interest in backing this organized political criminal by attempting to prevent the US from executing this arrest warrant.

I would not expect the police to beat that child, anymore then I would expect them to beat a dog that was terrorizing the neighborhood.

It all depends on if they resist arrest and draw a gun.. Saddam has the option of doing nothing and standing trial for his crimes, or even going into exile and avoiding prosecution altogether. It's all a matter of his choice.

But something tells me that he recognizes he's a dead man walking, no matter where he goes. Someone will seek him out and assassinate him.
