When is the last time you drove in China? Have you ever been on those newly-build tolled highway in China? They are exactly the same type of design (international standard with English signs) as the highway in the US or Europe or Japan. and the speed limit is even a little higher than the US. and the traffic is light because of the high toll.
Yeah, in cities, the road is chaotic, no doubt about it.

Even if now in Beijing, on some major city road, the traffic is sort of like L.A. rush hour traffic, for the most of the time during the day. Can the traffic in China be worse than L.A. rush hour traffic, or Chicago rush hour traffic? highly unlikely. I drove once in Chicago downtown, bet. 7pm-9pm, 2 hours, I moved about 20 miles. so average 10 miles/hour. So in the worse case in Beijing, it would be like that |
