OT:Anyone else feeling a little uneasy at how complacent

the markets are at the prospect of a "scripted" 4-5 day war? I was in Europe on the eve of the Jan 1991 war and there was a profound sense that the world was going off a cliff and even US troops were refering to themselves as "Iraqi speed bumps." I know 11 years of No fly zones and sanctions have withered Saddam's military, but we seem a bit too cocky the week before a war. Israeli news is reporting 600+ sorties per day, so the war is partially underway (I have no idea how accurate that story is..)

to my gut this feels like the macro version of a ramp before an earnings warning. I would glady have all my QQQ & FNM leap puts go to ZERO rather than see one unecessary US or Iraqi civilian casualty, but this time the market consensus is that it will be a cakewalk, and that is what alarms the contrarian in me.

Just some random ramblings/thoughts as we seemingly head to SPX 870; have a good weekend all from a 2 year lurker here
