>>> I answered that already and the answer was no. If Sadam prevented inspectors from doing their job it is equivalent to kicking them out.<<<
The inspectors did a well enough job that the former chief weapons inspector, Rolf Ekeus, ina speech at Harvard University said that over 90 percent of the weapons of mass destruction were destroyed during those inspections you're complaining about did nothing. Below is an interview where he is quoted as follows:
>>>MARGARET WARNER: Give us first your idea what the baseline is. What did Saddam Hussein have in the way of remaining weapons programs when the inspectors left in '98? And what do you think he at least theoretically could have now?
ROLF EKEUS: Well, I think it was very little left. There were some precursors.<<<

Much of the controversy over Saddam's complaint about the weapons inspectors were his allegations that some of the inspectors were going beyond inspections, but rather were cases of outright spying by the US. And there are some former weapons inspectors who acknowledge this.
Bush knows full well that chief weapons inspector Richard Butler, without consulting the UN Security Council, pulled out the inspectors when Clinton decided to bomb Iraq. This is a fact, Albert.
So when Bush goes before the public and says "he kicked out the weapons inspectors," he is directly lying to the American public. And this lie goes to whether we go to war or not, and is a lie serious in nature.
Take a moment, set back, take a deep breath and actually admit it: Bush lied to you and he lied to me--he lied to the American people, he lied to the world! |
