1. smartmoney has negative credibility IMO 2. Does Scansoft own its IP or does it pay any royalties for patents, etc.? Do they collect royalties from others? 3. If half the business is growing at 10% and that portion is the cash cow, then that portion is generating the profits and does not justify the current price. The positive P/E is therefore misleading. The argument for buying this stock seems to me to be based on turning a losing business growing at 20% into a profitable one, after all prior participants have not been able to do so. 4. To me the tipoff of the threat to this business is the statement in 3/2003 that "Dragon now boasts an accuracy rate above 95%." That's worse than previously stated by the companies that are now part of that group. Do the Dragon products work?
