People experience faith in different ways. For this priest it was obviously a very personal faith that God would not allow such a depth of evil to occur. You can call it naivite if you want but all faith is naive by those lights in that it relys on personal feeling.

Faith in humanity...naive?

All I implied was that you would be despicable and a pitiful example of humanity if that tragedy had not moved your Governnment to make SOME plan for long term security--regardless of whether the plan turns out to be the best conceived. I could not be friends to a people who felt they were so contemptible that they deserved to be slaughtered, or who would tolerate such evil intrusion.
