Which wars have been fought with permission of the UNSC?:
Korea(only because the USSR was absent) & the Gulf war. 2 precedents out of hundreds of wars since 1945?

Hardly a good record.

Countries act in their self interest whether the UNSC approves or not. The best way for the UN to survive this is to restructure it away from deciding on war.
