there has been a lot of discussion about the implicit guarantee of GSE through the treasury. As far as i know there is only a explicit 4B$ credit line for the GSE. Has there been any incidence in the past where the GSE's have been bailed out?

Is the implicit guarantee a prayer, which appears to be more and more real,the more often you repeat it to your self?
