Tokyo was also incinerated-far more civilian dead than Hiroshima & Nagasaki. Hanoi was bombed repeatedly in Vietnam.

There were dozens of smaller towns throughout Germany wiped out by allied bombing.

I'm not saying these were not justified in the greater context of the wars, but Dresden was hardly an exception to the rule. Civilian casualties are a fact of war. Technology has improved to the point that the % of civilian casualties will be one of the lowest in the post 1939 history of warfare.
