I would argue the % relative to military casualties will be one of the lowest.

I am in full agreement with your other points re PR. I would note that the press has much more access to this war than Gulfwar1. Some of the uberhawks are concerned about this. Pres Bush believes that if journalists are riding with frontline troops, they will form an allegiance with them and be hesitant to report negatively.
