Dear Kevin: I think perhaps you are young. You tend to look at things that are happening today and think it was different before. Not so, the UN has NEVER been a force of any value in settling international conflicts. Korea only happened with UN support cause the Ruskies kindly walked out of the vote, otherwise they would have vetoed UN support. IN MY MIND, it was probably a mistake to even BRING this matter to the UN. I imagin the supporters of that action felt Saddam was SO TERRIBLE that EVEN THE UN would have to act. NOT SO, they forgot HISTORY. Only the world great powers can settle international disputes. The UN is nothing more then a hens parlor for weak nations to voice their desires to the strong nations. jdn
