Here's something interesting.

I have shares in the Wasatch Mid-Cap fund. This is a highly volatile fund that concentrates its holdings in a few companies. Karey Barker the manager is a good stock picker. In 1995 the fund was rated as one of the top 5 or 10 (returned maybe 55%?). Then she was on the covers of magazines written up all over the place made a partner (?) in the firm . Money poured in and performance suffered. Poor last year. Poor this year. Anyway where is this heading?

Well when was an analyst several years ago (maybe '89,'90,'91?) she picked APCC and of course we all know that in those years this stock returned big time. Well she got rid of APCC a long time ago. UNTIL recently when she began to start building up her position. Well today I noticed she has APCC as the number 4 stock in her fund. This may be good or bad because she quickly dumps stocks on bad earnings!

Just heard on the news that mutual fund holders are redeeming their shares at record numbers. Will check into this. Those positive money flows do provide fuel for this unrelenting market.
