Can you see the difference between "because of the misuse of the UN sanctioned oil reveneus by Saddam" and "because of sanctions"? Let me help: The former is what you said, and the latter is what your links state. You don't know what you are talking about. Q.E.D.

Let's take an example for further clarification:

Many thousands are children are estimated to have died because many medicines are not available in Iraq due to sanctions. However Saddam uses Iraq's oil revenues, those children will die because of the sanctions.
