So you are basically agreeing with me that it is sanctions that killed so many Iraqis rather than Saddam's use of oil revenues. Here, I had written as much in this post:

Not due to his "misuse" of oil revenues, though, as you initially claimed.

65,000 Iraqis die each year as a result of the misuse of the UN sanctioned oil revneus by Saddam. That is a fact.

Even if he were to use 100% of those revenues to build hospitals, schools, etc for his people, sanctions would prevent importing sanitizing chemicals and medicines. Hence, people would still die because of sanctions.
