That's exactly what I'm saying. We have our share of ignorant religious zealots- but our demographics are older, and we don't have the bumper crop of zealots the ME has. There were be massive recruitment fueled by our actions (their recruitment numbers are already up, apparently). It will be fascinating to watch. Very unsafe to watch, but interesting, nevertheless. Logically, when you look at how many young people they have, and you look at the kind of education they get, the conclusion is pretty inescapable. Your hope may spring eternal, but I doubt you can really be all that sanguine about what is going to happen in the region. Of course maybe you really are. If you are, let's hope your eternally springing hope is a beautiful flower that takes root in the sandy blood soaked soils of the ME. Can't say I'm as eternally hopeful as you are.
