wealthy beneficiaries of shady accounting like John Doerr do you think that will be how he is remembered on his tombstone? I don't- I think people will remember Doerr for the companies he helped create (incl Amazon- my favorite) which helped rejuvenate the US economy from a 20 year funk. I remember in 1989 or so, an article in Fortune "100 things the USA does best". Amazingly, at that time, it was widely believed we were on a declining path only to be eclipsed by Japan Inc. and the asian tigers.
