I am quite moderate actually. The only issue I really am "left" on shouldn't be a left or right issue to begin with, and that is the environment.

I grew up with a lot of important Republicans in New England and as conservative as some of them were, they always cared about the environment and put their money where their mouths were. Now the GOP has shunned conservative and preservation because of the gobs of campaign contributions coming from polluters and "harvesters" themselves, mainly from Texas and the Rockies.

I was glad to hear Bush try to pre-empt Kerry on the hydrogen issue during his State of the Union, but we need to do MUCH more about it, right away, and it will pay for itself many times over in the not too distant future. Oil, as we;ve seen, can be at the root of all our problems, from Osama to Saddam to Enron to pollution and yes to Bush-Cheney (whom I consider a major problem but you dont).
