My fear is Iran will think like you just did, perhaps Syria also, that Bush will wanna change them also.

This fear extends into a possibility that both decide to engage a fractured and weakened Ameircan-British force (4th Army Division not in the war theater; three of five of the 101st Airborne's ships carrying their equipment still at sea, its full complement equipment not yet ported; and troops that are engaged being bogged down shoring up oil wells, handling POWs, feeding people and whatnot).

Once our forces have encircled Baghdad, what happens if at that moment troop divisions of Iranians pour out of Iran and planes from both Syria and Iran engage our forces?

There are two nightmare scenarios here: a) the above; and, in the absence of the above, taking Baghdad's government down in a city populated by 5.5 million or more and a place with no shortage of Saddam tricks and traps.

The possibility of the damage which can result from waging this war is greater than not waging this war, and this is one of the principles that make any war unjust.
