it seems that it's a little different than other bubbles, though. over any longer period of time, bond fund inflows HAVE to be maintained or the economy will completely seize up. somebody has to buy the ever-increasing load of government bonds or we're completely screwed, and very quickly at that, so it can't be allowed to pop.

if i were to believe in active PPT participation, i would be more inclined to see them as a buyer of last resort in the debt markets rather than dabbling in equities.

thinking about this stuff makes my head hurt.

inflation is higher than the short term interest rates
