Terry, you bring up a pretty good point of the possibility of a perpetual war-- meaning a perpetual "cost" attached to any prolonged occupation.

I believe that $4-1/2 billion was allocated to rebuilding Afghanistan...another $6 billion in cash was put in front of Turkey to allow the U.S. military on their land...and untold billions will be needed to rebuild Iraq.
