What am I missing here? Don't peripherals just plug in? Why would ati need a license? Is this Intel's attempt to revive the Micro Channel? :)) March 18, 2003 10:25 AM ET ATI Signs Pentium M Bus License Agreement with Intel March 18, 2003 06:00:00 (ET) MARKHAM, Ontario, Mar 18, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) today announced the company has reached agreement with Intel Corporation for a Pentium(R) M processor bus license. This gives ATI the necessary rights to build integrated chipsets for PC platforms based on Intel Pentium(R) M processors. Additional details of the agreement were not disclosed. ATI is the world's largest designer and manufacturer of graphics solutions for notebooks, with 49 per cent of the market, according to Mercury Research.
