Neocon - I am sure you realize that you are letting off your President VERY easy on all this, looking at it lightly and from a positive angle.

Because he had to go before a magistrate immediately, it can be considered an arrest

You see, it was an arrest.

He did not take the blood test because he was not going to fly any more, and he was ceasing flying because the plane he had trained on was being phased out

It is not as if they asked an arm, he would just pee into a bottle, for crying out loud. Why would you not do it, if it meant keeping your title as a pilot???

"Just pee here and continue to be a pilot"
"Naaah, I don't feel like it, because I decided I will never fly again"

Come on! :-)

Besides, even if he were afraid of a drug screen, you have no idea if it were marijuana, cocaine, or something else

You are right, I don't know what his drug of choice is. If you read the header of this thread, however, you will see this:

"There was cocaine use, lots of women, but the drinking was the worst"
---Quote from President George Bush's Chief of Staff Michael C. Dannenhauer about George W. Bush

Incidentally, Bush was at the legal limit of blood alcohol, and could have challenged the ticket, but decided not to bother.......

So nice of him. Sorry, I don't buy it for a minute that you would go along with being arrested just because you cannot bother to say "But officer, I am at the legal limit... Let it go, won't you?"
